2017 Celebration and Awards Gala event

Woody Woodward, was a major league shortstop for the Braves and Reds, and went on to serve as GM for the New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies and the Seattle Mariners. Born in Miami, he made All-American at Florida State. He is a longtime friend of the Bragan family and we are thrilled to make him the 2017 honoree.

Since we are at the Alhambra Theatre this year, we will include some singing and dancing that everyone is sure to enjoy as well. Local media celebrities scheduled to appear include Frank Frangie, Sam Kouvaris, Fred Seely and more!

He’s also a longtime friend of Jacksonville’s storied Bragan family. That’s why they’re honoring Woodard this month at the Peter Bragan for Better Baseball Foundation.

The foundation was established to serve as a permanent endowment to fund local baseball endeavors and a future cultural destination, The Jacksonville Baseball Museum.
